She’s the Man – Well, Sorta

How could a production featuring kissing girls, cheerleader gossip, and Ms. Stacy Jones not draw a crowd? Middle House’s rendition of “She’s the Man,” starring Julia Davis-Porada ’13 as Viola Hastings, a girl who goes to boarding school pretending to be her brother, inspired much laughter from the snow-soaked crowd.

Most of the comedic lines were taken straight from the movie, but the boyish swagger of Caroline Ferguson ’13 as Duke, Viola’s roommate, provided many funny moments. Ruthie Bates ’10 also earned laughs with her outstandingly creepy yet comical character, Malvolio.

Middle delivered a very smooth performance, some great acting, and quick-witted humor. Amelia White ’10, the director, and Tashina Kreilick ’10, the producer, put together a successful show, and many are expecting to see Middle in the finals.
