Unbeknownst to some students, SPS is home to a collection of worldclass astronomy equipment. We have the largest telescope in New England. The observatory, located ten minutes from the heart of campus, is frequently used by astronomy students but is also usually open to members of the larger community. Come to relax and stargaze.
A popular place to hang out with friends, the boat docks are a great place to relax, swim, and sunbathe. Come out and watch crew races in the Spring, walk along the nearby paths, or swim to one of the islands. Located at the very end of the road past the turf, they are a beautiful 15 minute walk or five minute bike ride away.
The woods are one of the most beautifu l and underappreciated parts of St. Paul’s. Take a stroll around the Lower School Pond and spot the totem pole and the moon rock. Cross the creaky bridge to Freaky Fields and catch a gorgeous sunset. Follow the bike path past herds of grazing cows and visit the Audubon nature trails. The woods are the best way to escape from campus and distress. Go to www.sps.edu/trailmap to see detailed routes.
